Call for Writers

I just sent this blast:

The International Resilience Institute Sydney (IRIS consulting) is working with Dr Venkat Pulla of Charles Stuart University and a number of distinguished board of editors to publish its first celebratory book on emotional resilience – the working title is “Coping and Resilience and Hope Building an International Perspective.”

This book aims to advance evidence-based practices in resilience promotion and hope building. It will look at interplay of individual, family, community and social responsibility factors in resilience and provide directions for future practice and research. Stimulating articles from people interested in the central themes of coping and resilience are being invited. We invite community activists, human services providers, social workers and academics working in the trans-disciplinary area of human coping with diverse challenging life circumstances and interested in the fascinating capacity of human resilience to most adverse life events to share with us their perspective of resilience.

If this opportunity interests you please send your chapter idea – abstract (up to 300 words) and with bio of each author ( up to 50–80 words) to vpulla@csu.edu.au or shane@irisconsulting.com.au by 30th of April 2012. After acceptance of the abstracts the editor will send the style manual and the writing schedule. We are looking at August 2012 for the finalisation of the book ready for publishers. The chapters will be reviewed by a distinguished non – contributing panel of referees.

Thanks for your interest!

Shane Warren of IRIS consulting
